Liberty, Miss., linebacker Damien Wilson visited Mississippi State this past weekend hoping for a scholarship offer.

But the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder found out Sunday that the Bulldogs were out of scholarships and could only extend a preferred walk-on spot.

"I went but things didn't quite go as expected," Wilson said. "They said they were out of scholarships. They offered me a walk-on spot. It was very disappointing."

During his visit to Starkville, Wilson was able to learn more about what MSU had to offer. He also got to spend time with his former teammate, All-SEC offensive lineman Gabe Jackson who served as his host.
