SU offers MD junior
For Syracuse Antwon Bailey is gone after this season, Prince-Tyson Gulley will be a junior next year, and that leaves just two more backs with more eligibility than that. That makes the 2013 class important for a couple of new running backs and one prospect who has already received an offer for that is Dorian O'Daniel from Olney (MD) Good Counsel.
The offer from the Orange was not expected and caught the prospect off guard.
"I found out Syracuse was going to offer me probably about half way through my sophomore year. I was really surprised," O'Daniel said. "I was still just only a sophomore and I thought the coach came by the school just to see all the upperclassmen."
Having a Syracuse offer is still new to the Maryland product and he does not know much about them. He is looking forward to the next Syracuse game though.
"I haven't seen too much of Syracuse so far, but I'm looking forward to watching their West Virginia game."
A visit up to Syracuse or any other school will not been taken soon because there is another top priority for O'Daniel.
"I will do all my visiting after the season my main priority right now is the season."
On Rivals.com he is listed as a linebacker, but at Syracuse that would not be the case.
"If I were to pick Syracuse I am not necessarily sure as of now what position I would play. They offered me as a running back and I'm not sure whether I'm going to play linebacker or running back in college."
He might not know his position at Syracuse, but there are a few items about the Orange that he does know.
"Syracuse has a good academic program, with a football program on the rise."
With such a long time left in the process for a 2013 prospect O'Daniel plans to use all the time he will be given to make his choice.
"I will probably make my choice on signing day, but if I know where I want go for sure, I will commit before."
