May 26, 2012- - Auburn's Big Cat weekend again paid dividends on Saturday as Lovejoy (Ga.) three-star tight-end Arshad Jackson committed to the Tigers.
"After I came the first time, and I came here again, it was a good feeling. Something told me it was the school for me," Jackson said.
The 6-foot-6, 244-pound Jackson chose Auburn over offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, and more.
Jackson visited Auburn with his mother, stepdad, grandmother and grandfather. Jackson said they, like him, "loved" their visit during Big Cat weekend. Jackson also had beneficial talks with Auburn assistants Trooper Taylor and Jay Boulware about the style of the Tigers' offense and how he would fit in.
"They told me they were going to use me a lot. They said they would be throwing the ball more, and the tight end will be in the formation more," said Jackson.
"When I went up there, they told me that they loved the way you get the ball -- your catching ability, your blocking ability, how you lead on the field, off the field, and that you're a good guy to be around, too."
Jackson said following his commitment, he's on the same page as his fellow AU pledges. That is to help recruit and bring the Tigers another stellar class in 2013.
Jackson will return to Auburn this summer to camp and maintains he is done with his recruitment.
"This is my place right here," Jackson said.
The Lovejoy High School product is Auburn's 10th commitment of the 2013 class.
