Dabo Swinney officially offered T.J. Green on Sunday.
The prospect officially visited this weekend and then committed this morning, as first-reported by Tigerillustrated.com.
"I just committed to Clemson and it was really good," Green told Tigerillustrated.com Sunday morning. "Basically when they offered that was big for me. When I got there it felt like home."
The Sylacauga (AL) standout arrived on campus late Friday night.
"We ate and then I hung out with my host Martin Jenkins," Green said. "On Saturday we took a tour during the day and then went to coach Swinney's house for dessert at night."
The pledge was a flip for Clemson as the athlete was previously verbally committed to UAB.
"I chose Clemson because of the opportunity to play for a winning program," Green said. "I chose them because of the opportunity to play for a national championship and the chance to play early."
The 6-foot-3, 198-pounder was a take an athlete.
"They said they'll figure out what position I'll play when I get there," Green said.
The 2013 prospect claims several verbal offers.
"Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, UAB, Troy, Cal, Southern Miss and Clemson," Green listed. "UAB offered me last spring. All of the rest came after my senior season. It's all come upon me. It's what I was hoping for. Auburn offered on Friday. I was going to visit there this weekend but I'm not going to anymore. I'm done with visits. Coach Swinney is coming to my house on Thursday."
As a senior, Green averaged 22.3 yards per catch and hauled in five touchdowns. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and one punt.
On defense, Green intercepted four passes and returned one for a touchdown.
"I ran the 40 (yard dash) in 4.45 (seconds) and have a 2.9 GPA," Green added. "Clemson is a getting a kid from a tough town, a tough guy. I have speed, height and the ability to catch the ball. I'm explosive."
