Minnesota put Utah Valley away with a 13-0 run to close out the contest. In the second half the Wolverines closed within ten points but another second half Rodney Williams surge combined with the efforts of point guard Al Nolen pushed Minnesota to a 76-51. But after the game most talk was about the Gopher offensive struggles early in the game. [details]

Allen down to final four

Defensive tackle Beau Allen has two official visits in the books and is setting up two more for early next month. He is down to four schools and will be finishing his visits soon, but that does not mean the big tackle will be making his decision in the near future.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Freshman Rodney Williams had 17 points, six rebounds and four steals in his first career start, helping 24th-ranked Minnesota pull away from Utah Valley in the second half of a 76-51 victory on Thursday.
