Wisconsin TE connects with Staten during visit

While the attention of the college football recruiting world was focused on the several NIKE Camps going on around the country this past weekend, the Michigan State staff hosted a recruiting event of their by holding a junior day.

Brookfield (Wis.) Central tight end Sam Rohr ( 6-3, 223) is one prospect that made it to East Lansing for the junior day and he talked about the event and where his recruitment stands with MSU when SpartanMag.com caught up with him Tuesday night.

"I had an overall great experience at Michigan State. I definitely like their tight ends coach, Coach (Mark) Staten, who I met early on in the visit. I also found the facilities to be very nice as well. I also got to meet the strength coach while I was there as well; he was a very interesting individual," Rohr said.

"I really like the coaches and the camaraderie of the players I talked to as well. Coach (Mark) Dantonio had four or five of his freshmen do a question and answer with us. I found out that although college is a very busy time for all of us, the guys are able to balance their time and are able to have a life other than football, but the academics are definitely a major part of that."

Rohr indicated that he had little contact with the Spartans before this past weekend, and now he expects to receive more attention from the MSU coaches.
