Two Future Stars in Tulsa?

TULSA - For several years it has seemed that East Central high school was on the verge of producing some special players. Through the years many talented prospects have come through their halls but perhaps more than ever the Cardinals are home to multiple division one prospects and boast a pair of juniors that could be among the state's best in the class of 2013.

The trio of seniors that head coach Travis Hill currently enjoys on his roster in linebacker Jevonte Cross, defensive end/tight end Damian Gibson, and offensive guard Derrick Crawford are a big part of the team that the East Central roster is hoping will lead them to their second state title under Hill.

Gibson is a talented two-way prospect that unlike many seems to be equally adept at one or the other. As a defensive end he is strong at the point of attack but displays surprising athleticism off the edge for a player of his 6-foot-3, 235-pound frame. He isn't one of the track stars that is so prevalent these days at defensive end but he is more physical than most and has the look of either a strongside defensive end or perhaps a five-technique in a 3-4 system.
