Ohio OL is one to watch

It is not a great year for offensive line talent in the state of Ohio, but a few players are starting to rise to the surface as quality BCS level prospects. One such player is 6-foot-5, 280-pound Kyle Meadows of Lakota West High School. caught up with Meadows and got some details on his recruitment.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for Meadows as he has seen his offer list expand quickly. Meadows now has double-digits offers and will likely have close to 20 scholarships by the time the May Evaluation period is over.

"I have 12 offers now," he stated. "I have been offered by Florida State, Pittsburgh, Illinois, West Virginia, Louisville and several MAC programs too."

Both the Michigan State Spartans and Michigan Wolverines are being very active in the state of Ohio this year. We asked Meadows if he has been bearing from either of them?

"Yes, I get lots of mail from both of those schools and I would definitely like to hear more. I am open to any of the teams that are interested in me. I do not have a favorite at this point, I am just trying to learn as much as I can about the schools."

The Wolverines look to be finished on the offensive line as they already have 5 commitments for the class of 2013. The Spartans currently have 1 offensiev line commitment and will likely add 3 more between now and signing day in February.

With a solid list of early scholarship offers, Meadows is looking forward to getting out this spring and summer and checking out schools. He will be unofficially visiting some schools and will likely camp at several others.

"I plan on getting down to Florida in the next few weeks to go to a Florida State practice. I will also go to some camps so I can compete against the best and improve. I will be going to the NIKE Camp and I am sure I will go to some others as well."

The Spartans will be holding their annual Big Man Camp in June and it could be a situation where Meadows could attend and earn a Michigan State scholarship with a strong performance. Over the years numerous current Spartans, such as Chris McDonald and Henry Conway, have done just that. will be sure to follow-up with Meadows in coming weeks and keep an eye out for him omn the spring camp/combine circuit.
