The offer list of Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit class of 2014 linebacker Vincent Jackson reads as a who's who of college football. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect has 28 offers listed in his Rivals.com profile but the real tally is up over 30 offers already, including one from Ohio State.

"It's more than 28," explained Jackson. "I have only reported the ones that I am interested in right now. There are some smaller schools that have offered me but I just didn't report them."

Jackson recently made some waves when he tweeted 'I definitely love Ohio State and Miami, no doubt about it'. While both of those programs have Jackson's attention, Jackson cleared the air on the context of the tweet.

"At the time, I said something about Miami and I was getting a lot of people from Miami tweeting at me and then an Ohio State guy jumped in," Jackson explained. "I really like both schools so I was just trying to let both the Miami and Ohio State people know that. It was about to get ugly."

Jackson commented on each of the programs that caused a mini twitter frenzy of two passionate fanbases.

On Miami - "I like Miami because a lot of my friends go there," Jackson explained. "It's close to home and it's a good school, they have a great law program which I am hoping to study. They have a great sports tradition there and they are rebuilding that."

On Ohio State - "It's a great tradition at Ohio State," he said. "It's just great history there and I'd like to be a part of something like that. At the same time I wouldn't mind being a part of building a tradition at another school so it's kind of a tossup right now."

The Buckeyes and the Hurricanes are part of a group of schools that Jackson says have a slight edge on the rest of the field at this time.

"Right now USC is probably my front-runner," he explained. "I like schools like USC, the hometown school USF, Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Oregon. Right now it's those eight or so (the listed schools plus Miami and Ohio State) that are standing out."

Jackson has been in contact with the Ohio State coaching staff, though with coaches not being able to call players it has been somewhat limited at this point. Jackson is hoping to make a visit to Columbus as soon as he can secure the transportation to do so.

"The guy I've really had the most contact with at Ohio State is coach (Stan) Drayton," he explained. "I know he came down to my school and offered me. I plan on visiting there at some point. It's far away so I have to get myself situated. I wanted to go up there for Friday Night Lights but it's hard to get transportation and stuff."

Jackson added that he plans to make an unofficial visit to Miami in the near future and will also be at the Friday Night Lights camp at the University of Florida. Jackson plans to take his recruitment until National Signing Day of his senior year.
