Hawks eye Michigan QB

Michigan quarterback Tyler Wiegers has five early scholarship offers and several other schools that are staying in close contact this off-season. One of those is the Iowa Hawkeyes, who may be close to offering the 6-foot-4, 197-pound Wiegers based on the conversations he has had with the coaching staff recently.

"I've been talking to their quarterback coach and offensive coordinator Greg Davis and he said they like me a lot and they're really close," said Wiegers. "They just want to get out and see me in person first, so I think they're going to come by my school later in the spring."

At Detroit Country Day High School, Wiegers completed 173 of 285 pass attempts for 2,465 yards and 22 touchdowns with only four interceptions as a junior.
