Willis-Dalton latest to receive offer from Gophers

Amaud Willis-Dalton, a three-star outside linebacker at Cypress Ranch H.S. in Houston, Texas, has 10 offers to date, but the University of Minnesota may have gained an advantage with its family-like atmosphere.

"They just really show a lot of interest in me as a player, and not only as a player," Willis-Dalton told GI. "They also want me to be successful in life and in the feature. They seemed very team and family oriented. They have a great bond with their players and they care about their players. "

Willis-Dalton is the son of former NFL defensive tackle Lional Dalton, who played nine years in the league, including four with the Baltimore Ravens and three with the Kansas City Chiefs. Dalton played at Eastern Michigan, one of the 10 schools to have offered his son.

Originally from Maryland, Willis-Dalton said his father's college and professional career will serve as an example for his college commitment.

"He said do what you desire. Don't do what anyone is else is telling you. They're always people telling you what their opinion is of where you should but at the end day its your decision and its your life. It's not for other people to choose."

Minnesota is the third school from the Big Ten to offer Willis-Dalton. He also has offers from California, Cincinnati, Arizona State, Purdue, Indiana and Boston College. Location, he said, will not play a large role in his decision.

"The best fit for me, football wise and academically in my major and minor," he said. "The best fit, no location, and just where I feel most comfortable putting my football career."
