Gophers showing interest in Ohio State transfer Zed Key

Ohio State forward transfer Zed Key has emerged as a potential target for the Golden Gophers. The Gophers interest was first reported on X by the account CBB content. Key entered the transfer portal on Saturday.

Alongside the Gophers, other programs that have shown interest in Key include Wisconsin, Xavier, Minnesota, Boston College, Dayton, VCU, Akron, and Murray State.

The New York native played in 121 games for the Golden Gophers over the last four years including 49 starts. For his career, he averaged 7.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assist per game. This past season as a senior, he played in 36 games, a career high wile making two starts. He also averaged 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Key is one of a handful of forwards that Ben Johnson and the Gophers have shown interest in. Other prospects include Central Arkansas's Tucker Anderson, Maryland's Jamie Kaiser Jr., and Cornell product Isaiah Gray.
