Isaiah Washington is a Gopher

Four-star 2017 point guard Isaiah Washington tweeted out his commitment to Minnesota today after finishing his official visit to Minnesota.

"They've been on me a long time, since freshman year," Washington told TGR about Minnesota in July. "That's a great school. I visited there, and it's a great school. It's a big city, and I didn't even know that. They're just showing me a lot of interest."

The No. 62 prospect in the country chose Minnesota over offers from Cincinnati, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Providence, Seton Hall, South Florida, St. John's, Texas A&M, and VCU. The Gopher Report believes that Seton Hall and Texas A&M were second and third for his services.

He was third in the Under Armour Association in assists, averaging 5.2 per game. Playing on an uber-talented New Heights team, he also averaged 12.9 points on 37.9% shooting, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game.

The Bronx native is also coming off a huge performance at Elite 24, a nationally-televised event in Brooklyn sponsored by Under Armour featuring the country's best prospects. He scored 36 points -- the second-most ever at the event, only trailing Lance Stephenson's total in 2008.
