One Year Later, Dylan Hillard-McGill Is Eager To Get On Campus
This time last year, many Gopher fans were excited to see Dylan Hillard-McGill sign his letter of intent and join the Minnesota football program. Hillard-McGill was an intriguing prospect in the 2020 class, because while he was a quarterback for Mesquite high school, the plan was always for him to be a wide receiver for Minnesota. Things didn't necessarily go as planned, however. At least not immediately.
Hillard-McGill announced in February that he would be grayshirting, and enrolling at Minnesota in January of 2021. This would give him more time to get through the Minnesota admissions process, and also continue polishing his skills as a receiver. Almost a year later, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound playmaker is ready.
"I'm just excited and ready to get the ball rolling," said Hillard-McGill. "It has been a year for me, so it has been a long time not being on a football field. I am ready to go to work and see what I can do there. There is going to be a lot of tears, and there are really no words. I am just ready."
