Minnesota’s big day on the recruiting trail continued on Sunday afternoon as three-star tight end Jacob Simpson committed to the Gophers.
He is the program’s fourth commitment of the day joining cornerbacks Samuel Madu and Mike Gerald along with defensive lineman Jaylin Hicks.
Simpson announced his commitment to Minnesota after visiting with the program this past weekend.
In addition to being ranked a three-star prospect, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound recruiting target out of Johnston, IA. is the seventh-best prospect in the state.
Simpson chose the Golden Gophers over 11 other programs, including several notable power five schools that included Iowa, Missouri, Texas Tech, Louisville, Illinois, Iowa State, and others.
