Jonathan Mann: “The HYPRR Hangout was possibly the highlight of my summer! We were there a little after noon to 5:30 and the time definitely flew by. We started things off by eating some great burgers and chicken and just socializing with the recruits, the coaches, and their families. Then we got divided into our teams for the ROWmazing Race. I was on a team with Coach Callahan and Coach Ciarrocca along with Tyler Cooper and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. First we took pictures in the new uniforms, which was definitely a lot of fun for the guys. I can’t give away too much of the scavenger hunt, but definitely standing on the ice at Mariucci Arena was definitely something I’ve never done before. All in all, I think the HYPRR Hangout was pretty special and now I feel like I know my future teammates a lot better.”
Aaron Witt: “The highlights were probably getting to wear the new jerseys and getting to meet and talk to all the coaches. I’m blessed to have an offer from the home state. It means a lot.”
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: “It was fun. I had a great time talking to the coaches and getting to s ee one of the best facilities in the nation. It was an awesome experience.”
Michael Brown-Stephens: “The HYPRR Hangout was fun and a unique way to familiarize myself with my future teammates and campus. We were there from about 1-5pm. The activities were all about skill and how well you could strategize to do it. The best part was finding different ways to do the activities. I had a blast!”
Logan Richter: “It was a lot of fun meeting most of the ‘19 class and also catching up with all of the coaches! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed every minute.”
Jason Williamson: “The ROWmazing Race was really fun, and it was good to get around some of the other guys.”
JJ Guedet: “The Hangout was a great time to get to know some of the other commits better and have a blast. As for a memory, when we were preparing to leave the stadium, the new wide receiver commit Michael told us all that he was committing.”
DeAngelo Griffin: “The most amazing part was the hockey court field.”
MJ Anderson: “It was great. I got to meet other commits, and I sat down and met with the defensive coaches, and we went over film. They showed where I will play in the system.”
Brady Weeks: “We were on campus from 1-6. We started off by eating some food and talking to the other commits, then we started a campus-wide scavenger hunt. We had to complete several different tasks. The highlight of my whole time there was my team, including Coach Wenger, Camden Lewis, Tom Foley, and myself. We won the entire scavenger hunt. Overall I had an elite day.”
Cole Kramer: “We started off with a little lunch and got to meet the other commits. Then we went into the locker room to try on the new jerseys for a while, which was super cool. Then we did the ROWmazing Race, where we went around campus doing different tasks and obstacles!”
